The Idiot Manifesto

We've all been slightly entertained by the idiots in New York camping out in Manhattan demanding the repeal of civilization...or something like that, it appears.  They have finally blessed us with a manifesto. 

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

There are a couple things going on here and neither are the result of serious economic thinking.  These are simplistic ideas made by people who have absolutely no idea how an economy even works.

The first thing is the imposition of trade tariffs.  There are some applications where this would help and should always be part of our trade policy when absolutely necessary.  The other side of the coin is that tariffs would be placed on us for our goods, thus limiting our ability in international trade.  A blanket tariff is a lousy idea.

The second is this idea of raising the minimum wage.  If the minimum wage is $20 an hour, then your latte will cost 10.  If your car needs an oil change, it will cost $60, not 30.  $20 will be the new $8.  If 20 is good, why not 100?  The reason is fairly obvious.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

You knew this was coming.  Single payer does not work well and will not work.  The system will soon be so overwhelmed, that care will be minimal and much worse than we have now.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

Demand four: Free college education.

I want free ice cream too!  If you don't see the folly in these two demands, then you are an idiot.  There ain't no free lunch.  The productive will not long subsidize the willingly unproductive.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

OK, what's your plan?  Nice goal, but if you are expecting to accomplish this, you better have a plan or you look stupid.  Demanding is one thing, doing is usually another.  You are looking stupid here.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.

I don't know where they think all of this money is going to come from.  Good luck with that two trill.  They want to spend part of a trillion to fix the electrical grid, but they want destroy the dams (hydroelectric) and take away fossil and nuclear fuels.  You can't build enough wind turbines. 

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

I'm pretty sure this is already covered in there.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Imagine there's no countries...Yeah, that will make things better.  Also, in demand number one, they are demanding import tariffs.  How does that square with that if there are no borders to enforce.  The critical thinking skills of these Einsteins is staggering!

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Probably the only thing here that makes a smattering of sense!

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

It's obvious that these brainiacs have absolutely no idea how economics and labor work.  These are the most idiotic and brain dead ideas of the lot.  If you eliminate all debt, you will have no need for credit reporting agencies because no one will ever loan anyone anymore money for anything.  Why?  No one is going to loan you any money if they know, that by the stroke of a pen somewhere, it can be erased.  You will pay for your cell phone usage upfront.  You will pay for your car and house in cash.  Save your pennies.  No credit, no loans and no one to report it to! 

All economies are debt based.  If I do build your house, you owe me in some  way for my labor and materials.  I incur a debt with the people who provide my materials and so on.  Even in the simplest of barter systems, debts are paid.  I fix your roof, you give me a chicken.  Debt paid.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

Union thug to worker:  Nice job ya got here.  Be a shame if your legs got broke and you couldn't do it anymore.  Wanna sign this card?

Whoever put this list together has absolutely no idea how the real world works.  They have no real knowledge of economics or governance.  They sit around with their smart phones, i-pods, and laptops, built by corporations and complain because they can't get a free college education.

I think the smart ones are still in school.  These people need to go back to grade school.

The Day Of Rage Of Fail

A few hundred die-hard hippy wannabes descended upon the Manhattan financial district commonly known as Wall Street.  They hopped for 20,000 people, but they were lucky if they got 20 percent of that amount. They had hoped to start some kind of Socialist Spring ala the Arab Spring.  The reality is that it's just a bunch of losers still hoping for some kind of Socialist utopia.  Their hope is to really annoy those rich bankers and bring them to their knees with their peaceful rage...or something like that.  The plan is to camp out for months!  We'll see how they are doing in about a month when it starts to get a bit chilly there in between those canyon walls.

When I went to their facebook page, apparently they have some problems according to someone named Daniel Baez. 

I arrived at 1pm and listened to some speeches~we were then informed that 'One Chase Manhattan Plaza' was barricaded by the police and were redirected to Zuccotti Park; as we marched by Wall St. we noticed Wall St. was barricaded as well; when arriving at Zuccotti a loud brass ensemble distracted the gathering (they were protected by a group of police) so it seemed they were hired to do so; helicopters overhead and lines of police vans full, I walked around scoping out the scene and attempted to find an alternate route into Wall St. I made conversation with a group of police officers who laughingly told me that if anyone set up tents or attempted to sleep they would arrest us on the spot..'and we're just doing our jobs dude'...I was a little discouraged and took off to another event. How can anyone stay for more than a day or so?..there are no bathrooms, kitchens weren't set up as announced, and again, the message isn't clear. I'm for 'end corporate personhood' ~ comments?

Sounds like they will be there for  months! Or not.

Lower Manhattan is a district filled with skyscrapers and money.  Wall Street is there, of course, and it is the home of the most famous building in lower Manhattan - The New York Stock Exchange.  Most people probably couldn't tell you where Wall Street is in New York City, but they know that it's essentially the heart of the American economy.

It always makes me smile a bit when I see these comical Commies out protesting what they call Corporatism.  This whole protest was set up through social networking websites using high speed computers and smart phones that were developed, and sold by the corporations seeking to make a profit.  And while there probably few, if any, computer firms that call Manhattan home, all the big ones have made a pilgrimmage to the canyons of Manhattan when they went public.  Apple might be based in , CA, but their money is in NASDAQ, a block away from Ground Zero.

Imagine a world without a profit motive.  There would be no reason for anyone to better their lives or take a risk.  If there is no profit, there is no investment.  If there is no investment, there is no innovation.  If there is no innovation, then we'd all still be foraging for nuts and berries.  They use their iPhones and iPads.  They use there laptops and desktops.  They ride in cars, fly in planes and talk on a cellphone to someone on the other side of the world with the clarity as good as if they were on the other side of the city.  They listen to music on their ipods, watch cable and satellite TV.  The take pictures with digital cameras and use the internet for little cost. 

If it wasn't for the profit motive and the desire for wealth, it's doubtful that any of those things would be available.  No TVs, no computers, no iPhones and no internet.  Twitter, Facebook and Google would not available because the internet wouldn't exist.  No pictures, no videos and the ability to amplify sound would also not be available.  Everything from the clothes on their back to the tarps they will use to ward off the rain were made by a corporation whose existence and raison d'être is based upon making a profit.

I understand some of their fears and I agree with some of what they are saying.  No corporation should be "too big to fail."  We need to rein in the corruption.  No one is against that.  What we don't need, is the system destroyed which is essentially their ultimate goal.

I guess they will be releasing some kind of  manifesto next Saturday:

What if, try as we might, we just can't come up with only one demand? Well, then maybe we can decide together on an END THE MONIED CORRUPTION OF AMERICA MANIFESTO – a rousing compendium of our most urgent demands. And on the seventh day of our occupation we publicly deliver our manifesto to the White House and to the American media, letting Obama know that we won't leave Wall Street until he responds.

I'm sure Obama will be there to take delivery.  Memo to the Commie Kiddies: You'll have a better chance finding him on the golf course!

I also note that they are complaining that the main stream media isn't paying enough attention to them.  It's almost comical.  But then, they are corporations, after all.

We'll see if there are more than a dozen still camped out after a few days.

More Proof Obama Is Inept

So the Dear Leader demanded a joint session of Congress so that he can give another "Jobs" speech.  And that's fine.  Theoretically, I suppose anyone could demand to speak before a joint session of Congress.  The trick is getting it approved by the leadership of the House and the Senate, specifically the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader.

Since the President is only a wannabe dictator and not a real one, he can only ask that the Congress set a little time aside for his speech.  Since the Speaker of the House is a Republican, it becomes a bit trickier in that he needs the Speaker's permission.  A little diplomacy is in order - or at least one would think so. 

Usually what happens is the President decides he wants to address a Joint Session of the Congress.  This is usually not done for mundane reasons.  These sessions are usually reserved for more significant speeches by Presidents and other dignataries.  State of the Union speeches are the more common speeches given by Presidents in a Joint Session.  Once the President decides he has some really significant things to say, he has his Congressional Liaison staff contact the appropriate staffers in Congress who pass on the request to their respective Chamber leaders.  They negotiate upon a date and time, arrange it with the media covering the speech, then make the public announcement.  Nobody gets their toes stepped on and we, the public, are not privy to any spats over scheduling.  Nobody looks like an idiot.  It's how professionals do it.

Until now.  Obama demanded in public a joint session to talk about jobs and Speaker Boehner shot him down, also in public.  It seems Obama's desired date and time would conflict with the GOP Presidential debate also scheduled for that evening.  The Obama camp said it was a coincidence, but most people with half a functioning brain cell don't believe it for a minute.  He was looking to steal some thunder and got struck by lightening instead.

Obama comes out of this looking more  inept and inexperienced  than presidential.  It's not even a rookie mistake.  It's arrogance, amateurish, and a sign that he has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

The On Going Saga Of The Underwear Bomber

Remember the so-called "Underwear Bomber"?  Back on Christmas Day in 2009, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (I'll call him Umar)  attempted to become a eunuch by igniting some explosives sewn into his underwear while riding on an Airbus A330 bound for Detroit.  Fortunately for his fellow passengers, Allah was not with him that day (He might have been distracted by helping out the Taliban or something) and aside from some third degree burns on his thighs and second degree burns on his holy junk, he survived the experience.

Which places our boy Umar in a federal jail cell in Milan, MI about 45 miles SW of Detroit.  He's in a pretrial holding cell, scheduled  to go on trial on Oct 4th for his crimes.  He is acting as his own lawyer.  Presumably, since he was so brilliant at blowing up his junk, he thinks that qualifies him to defend himself. 

His legal strategy is brilliant!  First, during Ramadan, he assaulted some guards in the defense of Mohammad. From the Detroit Free Press:

In a separate, handwritten court filing, the Nigerian national also wrote that "excessive force" was used to restrain him on Wednesday while he was in his closed cell, during the "holy month of Ramadan." He wrote that between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., "in defense of Muhammad," he assaulted several officers from his cell, and that as a result, "excessive force" was used to restrain him.

A brilliant strategy!  Attack the guards then complain that they had to use force to restrain you and it's all OK because you were defending Mohammad. 

But the best is yet to come.  Our boy Umar has decided that he is not subject to US laws.  That's right, folks.  He, from the Brotherhood of the Blistered Bits, is above our man made laws.

In a handwritten court document filed today, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 24, asked the court to release him from prison, arguing that "all Muslims should only be ruled by the law of the Quran."

"The defendant is being unjustly detained in the Unites States of American, and subjected to the Rule of Man," wrote Abdulmutallab, adding he should "only be judged and ruled by the law of the Quran."

I'm presuming that since bombing airplanes full of people is not specifically banned, plus killing infidels is a sure ticket to those promised 72 virgins, he would be freed to pursue other Jihadi endeavors.

I'll agree that his petitions will in all likelihood, not go much further than the nearest trash can, but in todays politically correct judicial system, there is a sliver of doubt.  All he needs is some whack job federal judge to agree and he is home free to try and get it right the next time.  I'm not saying it will happen, but could it happen some day?  I'll bet it could.

Umar will most likely spend the rest of his days in some Federal Pen, getting three hots and a cot on our dime.  That's probably way more than he deserves, but that's our man made laws for ya.

Brother, Can Ya Spare A Dime?

This is government in all of its incompetent and crooked glory!

It seems that the city of Oakridge, Oregon (pop. 3300) is missing 420,000 dollars.  For a small town, that is a helluva hole.  Give or take a point or two, that's about a 13 percent sized hole in a budget of just over 3 million dollars.  No one seems to know where all that money is.  They are stuck in an audit since 2008.  Nobody seems to want to answer some important questions.

The City of Oakridge has not completed an audit since 2008, something Zimmerman blames on “the difficulty in making the numbers work.”

The 2009 audit currently in process has run into a number of problems, resulting in delays and the auditor’s refusal to sign off on the audit. Zimmerman says the auditors have had a number of questions and issues over the years that needed to be resolved before the audit could be completed.

At issue now is a $67,000 temporary account with insufficient documentation, and thus the 2009 and any subsequent audits have yet to be completed.

Their backup plan is to solicit loans from the local citizenry to help keep the city from defaulting.

George Custer began seeking “investors” soon after the City acknowledged it would be laying off eight city employees, about one quarter of the staff, to fill the budget gap, saying it was a win-win for the City and the citizens.

Custer is a volunteer planning commissioner for the City of Oakridge and claims he was not working on behalf of the City. Instead, he was soliciting loans for the City as a “concerned citizen.”

Both the city administrator and the mayor knew about the plan and considered it an option to keep the City from defaulting on its payments and going into bankruptcy.

“That was a plan B in case other things didn’t work” said Donald Hampton, City of Oakridge mayor.

Custer says that half a dozen citizens have agreed to give the City a loan if a loan from the bank does not materialize, but the list of citizens will remain anonymous for now.

I'm surprised they found anyone willing to loan them anything!  I certainly wouldn't offer to loan them a dime!  If they can't keep track of 13 percent of their own budget, what's the chances they will keep track of my loan?

I might add that the county is quite blue, voting 58% for Kerry/Edwards and 63% for Obama/Biden.  Hizzonner, Mayor Hampton, was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Education Association.  I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest he might not be a Tea Party member.

They probably just need to raise taxes on the town's rich people.  That will do it.

The Violence Worker Awards - 2010

I've decided to do the Violence Worker Awards.  I haven't done that in a few years.  2006, I think.  So, with tongue firmly planted in cheek - mostly - here is the coveted Violence Worker Awards:

Our first award is the "Tone Deaf, Lame Duck Award". This award is given to the politician who has continued to thumb his or her nose at the American electorate after November.  There are three nominees for this one. 

• The first is President Barack (I Won) Obama. 
• The second is "Dirty Harry" Reid. 
• The third Nominee is Nancy (I'm your leader!) Pelosi.

This was a tough one, but in the end, we decided this one should go to ...

Dirty Harry Reid

Harry decided to ratchet up his attack on America by trying to introduce an amnesty bill and a  Pork laden, budget busting Omnibus Spending Bill.  Tone deaf or defiant... You choose.

Our next award is the "I am their leader...which way did they go?" Award.

There was only one nominee for this one.  Nancy Pelosi was the obvious choice here.  She led her chamber to an historic defeat, then demanded she remain as leader of her party. Will she preside over more lost seats?

Up next is the "Baghdad Bob Truth In Political Advertising"  Award.  This award is for the best in deceptive political advertising.  With an election season, this was a hard one.  There was so many to choose from.  Our choice here at the world headquarters and corporate offices of the Violenceworker.com was a hard one, but one ad outshone them all.

Alan "Disgrayson" Grayson was the hands down winner for his Taliban Dan ad where he chopped up a speech by his opponent and made it seem like he was saying the exact opposite.  It doesn't get worse than that.  While Mr. Grayson was the big winner of this award, he lost his seat to his Republican opponent.  Gee, that was too bad.

In any award series, there is always an award for lifetime achievement.  This one is no different.  Tonight, we honor a man whose political career has spanned decades and in that time, he hasn't learned a thing.  His gaffes are legendary.  It's only been since he was elected to his current position that he's been able to truly blossom.

For lifetime achievement for gaffes in politics, the "This is a big f&#^%@g deal! award goes to Slow Joe Biden.  The Democratic gift to Republicans that keeps on giving.

The Most Dishonest Congress Ever!

I have no other way to explain it.  There is a budget process that is law.  The Democrats ignored it and "deemed" a spending resolution "passed".  Honest people do not do that.  It's not a budget by any stretch of the imagination.  It's nothing more than a slimy attempt to cover up their spending and taxing before the November elections.

The enforcement resolution is being used instead of a full-fledged budget resolution because rank-and-file Democrats did not want to vote for a budget resolution that would show large deficits, particularly in an election year marked by worries about the nation’s fiscal solvency.

They are trying to hide behind the skirts of the White House Fiscal Commission.

The budget document, however, doesn’t say what policies Congress should enact to reach that out-year goal, something past budget resolutions have done. Instead, it relies on the White House fiscal commission, a bipartisan panel looking at tax, spending and entitlement policies, to come up with a plan to reach their target by 2015.

A Congress that, according to the Speaker of the House, is supposed to be the most honest and transparent Congress ever, is in a word, neither.  They lie, cheat and steal and the hell of it is, the media do nothing but look the other way.

Don't blame this idiocy on Bush.  The Democrats have been in charge of Congress two years before Bush left office.  GROW UP AND START TAKING RESPONSIBILITY!

Of course they won't.  Blaming Bush is all they have.  They have no answers, they have no leadership and most of all, damned few of them - if any - have the slightest sense of integrity.

Why Is This Different?

Imagine, if you will, a Black man walking into a coffee shop and being asked to leave because the owner feels "uncomfortable having him in the shop.  Lawsuits would abound, his shop would be picketed by every group in town and rightfully so.  You just can't do that type of thing in America in 2010 -- unless it's a cop.

PORTLAND, Ore. - A Portland police officer says he doesn’t take it personally that he was kicked out of a cafe where he had stopped to get a coffee.

Officer James Crooker told The Oregonian he was surprised he was asked to leave the Red and Black cafe but understands it was hostility directed at his uniform.

Co-owner John Langley says he asked the officer to leave May 18 because he felt uncomfortable having a uniformed officer in the vegan cafe, which is frequented by the homeless, environmental and animal rights activists.

Why is it different?  Why can you not discriminate against one group, but have no problem discriminating against an other?

The Red and Black Cafe is no ordinary coffee shop.  They are unabashedly left-wing extremists.  They are a capitalist operation (for profit) raging against the very system that gives them their existence.

Wonder what would happen if their store was robbed?  Who would they call?

Obama Bows To The Japanese Emperor

Douglas MacArthur rolled in his grave and the drafters of our Constitution shrieked a ghostly howl heard round the world.  Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America, bowed to the Japanese Emperor Akihito. 

He was caught bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia and his people said it wasn't a bow, it was just that the king was a little shorter than Obama and he bent down to look him in the eye.  Nevertheless, it was a bow and we all know it despite the lie spin from his handlers.

One would think the Obama handlers would have learned from the uproar caused by his bow to the Saudi ruler.  One would have thought that he would be told to just shake hands and call it good.  Either he was told and was too stupid to remember, or he was not told and he was still too stupid to remember.  The other explanation is that he just doesn't care.  Whatever the case, it was wholly inappropriate for him to bow to Akihito.

General protocol says that when the heads of state from different countries meet, bowing and scraping is not required unless the head of state is subject to the other.  An example might be the Canadian Prime Minister bowing to the Queen of England

The President of the United States should never, ever feel obligated to bow down to anyone.  It is a sign of subservience.  The Japanese might think it appropriate, but Obama is not Japanese.  The President of the United States is not subservient to any other ruler.

Just another signpost on the road of the Obama Presidency that we are dealing with a rank amateur who is unworthy of his office and the respect it should entail.

Obama Needs To Go!

OK folks, tell me again why you elected this Communist SOB as a President.  I’m tired of mincing words.  I tried to be respectful, but no more.  This wannabe Stalin is no good for this country and the change we need is to throw his Socialist ass out of office come 2012.

He doesn’t like Fox News…I get it.  Fine.  But to use the power and prestige of the presidency to marginalize Fox News is anti-American.  It borders on Stalinesque.  He’s gone so far as to ask the other networks to ignore Fox News and their correspondents.

Yesterday, he doubled down and lost.  He tried to exclude Fox News from an interview of the so-called Pay Czar (you know, that guy who is in charge of capping salaries).  All administrations often provide top off officials to be interviewed by the press pool of which Fox is a member.  The hacks in this administration tried to exclude Fox news.  Fox is a member of that pool.

Fortunately, the other networks refused to participate unless Fox was included.  They understood the implications that the next President could find them in disfavor – and if it was a Republican, I’d be just as pissed!  Maybe more so
