I'm just wondering who really gives a damn what this guy thinks?

WASHINGTON (AP) - John Kerry says Republican John McCain doesn't have the judgment to be president.

This is almost a ringing endorsement for McCain just because Kerry said it.  Kerry is about as popular in the Democratic Party as a skunk at a lawn party.  He'll be forever known as the candidate that couldn't even defeat Bush.  His performance in this season's run for the Rose Garden was short and embarrassing.  The final blow was his great display of judgment when he told that joke that no one laughed at.

Three years after his unsuccessful run for the Presidency, John Effen Kerré, the French looking Senator from Massachusetts, who (by the way) once served in Vietnam, has announced that he has an answer for those who would question his participation in Vietnam.  No that is fast acting!  Can you imagine him as President?

Chief of Staff:  Mr President, Terrorists have attacked Boston!

Kerré:  Those dirty terrorists!  Don't worry, we'll have a solid response in a few years. 

And to think people even voted for this guy. 

If his track record holds out, it'll be two more years until we get his joke he told last year.

It seems Jean Effen Kerré, the French looking junior Senator from Massachusetts who, by the way, served in Vietnam, is having second thoughts about his Presidential aspirations.  It seems that his "botched joke" was more than most folks could stand, even Democrats.

WASHINGTON -- Senator John F. Kerry's election-eve "botched joke" about the war in Iraq -- and the fierce denunciations his comments drew from fellow Democrats -- has led him to reevaluate whether to mount a run for the presidency in 2008 and has led him to delay an announcement about his decision, according to Kerry associates.

It's so sad.  No one got his joke.  He just can't understand it!

Kerry -- who had methodically resurrected his political standing after a tough loss to President Bush in 2004 -- was stunned by the swift, angry reaction to his Oct. 30 statement that underachieving students would end up "stuck in Iraq." Aides and friends say the senator was particularly stung by the fact that so many Democrats had joined Republicans in rebuking him.

I suspect that by spring, he'll just quietly fade away.  There are a some better Democrats out there, Governor Vilsack and Senator Bayh are two of them.  I'm sure that he's been told he hasn't a chance in Hell by a lot of his colleagues. 
But the most laughable part is this:

Since the Nov. 7 elections, Kerry and his advisers have evaluated the damage his remark made to his image. For many Democrats, his verbal stumble revived memories of Kerry's famous campaign-trail equivocations, said Dan Payne, a Democratic consultant who has worked with Kerry.

"It's had the effect of reminding people of his worst moments in '04," Payne said. "It's not the joke; it's what it revealed that was damaging. It represents John Kerry's failure to learn the lessons of his last campaign, to watch what you say because Bush and [Karl] Rove might be listening."

That is the most idiotic thing to say.  It ain't just Bush or Rove.  It's any and all potential political opponents including your own damned party!!!!  It's politic 101 for god's sake!  It's the first rule and the second is like unto it. 

Rule #1:  Understand that everything you say and do and everything you've ever said or done is now fair game for your opponent(s) to use the second you jump into the ring.
Rule #2:  Understand that everything your opponent(s) has(have) ever said or done, or will say or do, is now fair game for you to use.

It's why Jean Effen Kerré is not president today and it is why he will never be President.  He's too stupid.

Wanted: man to land on killer asteroid and gently nudge it from path to Earth

It is the stuff of nightmares and, until now, Hollywood thrillers. A huge asteroid is on a catastrophic collision course with Earth and mankind is poised to go the way of the dinosaurs.

To save the day, Nasa now plans to go where only Bruce Willis has gone before. The US space agency is drawing up plans to land an astronaut on an asteroid hurtling through space at more than 30,000 mph. It wants to know whether humans could master techniques needed to deflect such a doomsday object when it is eventually identified. The proposals are at an early stage, and a spacecraft needed just to send an astronaut that far into space exists only on the drawing board, but they are deadly serious. A smallish asteroid called Apophis has already been identified as a possible threat to Earth in 2036.

By the way, did you know he served in Vietnam?

Kerry's Non-apology

This is the text of Koward Kerry's non-apology:

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Yo Kerry, that was no apology and it is way too late anyway.  Yesterday, you blamed it all on Republicans lying about what you said. You were either too stupid or narcissistic to realize that in this case, the truth was already around the world before your lie got its boots on. 

You see, Mr. Kerry really is not very bright.  Aside from the fact that his grades were lower in college than Bush's, he really is not very perceptive.  Kerry lost the election for several reasons, but one of the reasons he was told by his advisers was his failure to confront the Swift Boaters head on.  This was probably pounded into his head.  What he learned was not nuance.  What he learned was when confronted, use the hammer.  He really isn't smart enough to realize that not every confrontation needs a hammer and certainly not a sledge hammer.  Nuance.  Remember that word from the 2004 campaign?  Nuance. We were told that Kerry understood nuance which is why we didn't understand his flip flops.  So remembering the Swift Boat lesson, Kerry swung the hammer.  Instead of killing the problem, it made it worse -- sort of like missing the nail and hitting your thumb.

Yesterday, he vehemently denied he owed anyone an apology.  If anyone owed anyone an apology, it was to him by us "right-wing nut jobs" for lying about him.

Then came the appearance cancellations with fellow democrats and the veterans groups demanding an apology. If us conservatives didn't get the joke, apparently a lot of Democrats didn't get it either.  Many of his colleagues were all of a sudden acting and sounding just like those "right-wing nut jobs"!

My guess is his handlers sat him down in front of a computer and showed him the video and the troops in Iraq with their sign and said, "Look you idiot, if you don't apologize quickly, your ass is grass and your own damned mouth is the lawnmower."

So we get the non-apology -- two days later and laden with bile. It's the last paragraph that is telling.  Essentially it says that if the Republicans hadn't made such a big deal out of this, I could have ignored it and moved on.

And this man was almost the President.  That's scary.

Some soldiers in Iraq just delivered a knock out punch to John Kerry's Presidential aspirations.

I know, it's all over the web and the blogosphere, but DAMN that is funny! 

Leave it to American GIs to delivery the fatal blow in howling style!

The Only Joke Was The Teller

Kerry says it was a botched joke.  He then goes on to slam Republicans like it was their fault he botched it.

Sorry Koward Kerry, but it doesn't wash.  If it indeed was a botched joke, a simple apology, up front and from immediately after you said it, would have stopped the fire storm. 

Consequently, I don't believe it was a joke.  Kerry has a long history of denigrating those who serve.  This is but one installment in a continuing saga.
