In this 410 Billion dollar funding bill is 126 million dollars that benefit the Kennedy name and legacy.
The bill includes $5.8 million for the planning and design of a building to house a new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate. The funding may also help support an endowment for the institute.
The bill also includes $22 million to expand facilities at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum and $5 million more for a new gateway to the Boston Harbor Islands on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a park system in downtown Boston named after Kennedy's mother and built on land opened up by the Big Dig highway project.
The article doesn't lie, but it does misrepresent the percentage. It is more than one out of five (20%) of the total, but it's more like 26%. Over one fourth, not one fifth.
Rush joked about the "Kennedy Memorial Healthcare Bill". Perhaps that wasn't grand enough in scope. Maybe they should just rename the state after Kennedy. Call it the Edward M. Kennedy Memorial Commonwealth. The new motto could be: The commoners will never get his wealth!
I don't wish the man an earlier demise than the one the Good Lord intended, but this ridiculous. Don't we have better things to spend our treasure on?
