Obama Snubs The AZ Governor

Pathetic.   It seems that he just doesn't have time to meet with Governor Brewer.  He just doesn't have the time.  She requested a meeting with him next week to discuss the border situation and well,  the anointed one is just too busy to meet with her. 

Brewer will be in Washington to meet with other governors. She said Friday that she had asked to meet with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to discuss border security and immigration. But Obama's schedule "doesn't allow for a meeting" with her, White House spokesman Adam Abrams said, adding that the president "does intend to sit down with the governor in the future."

When Obama returns from his Chicago vacation on Tuesday, he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Peru President Alan Garcia at the White House. On Wednesday, Obama is meeting with Gen. Ray Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, before heading to an event in Pittsburgh and hosting a concert at the White House to honor Paul McCartney.

Because, you know, honoring some old Brit rocker is way more important than the security of our country.

What a petty and divisive thing to do.  OK, I understand he doesn't like the law, but dammit, what in hell is he doing to help?  A leader would sit down with all the border governors and look to find a solution.  A real leader would try and solve the problem, not act like some insolent toddler who was denied a piece of candy.

It's obvious to me that Obama doesn't give a fiddler's damn about this country or our security.  If he did, he'd be doing something other than play endless rounds of golf or honor some old reprobate from the 60's.

The man deserves to be booted out on his rear in 2012.  He is not fit to be President of the United States.

Elana Kagan

Obviously, I'm against Ms. Kagan's nomination on ideological grounds.  I believe this particular nominee will not change the ideological makeup of the Supreme court, but ideological grounds are not enough.  Ms. Kagan is very liberal and the Justice she is nominated to replace is also very liberal. I also believe she will ultimateley be confirmed and she will be sworn in as the next Supreme Court Justice.

Her nomination troubles me beyond ideology.  First is the fact that she has never been a judge.  She's never even adjudicated a parking violation.  That doesn't mean she doesn't have some idea of what the job entails.  She's a lawyer; she's argued before the Court as Solictor General of the United States and I'm sure she's read a book or two on the subject.  I understand that there is absolutely no constitutional requirements set down in the US Constitution as to who can be a judge.  Frankly, Obama could appoint me to be a judge or a justice.  Obviously it would never happen, but technically, it's possible. 

Secondly, her fight to keep military recruiters off of the campus also troubles me.  On the surface it was over the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy, but I would like to know where she really stands concerning the military.  Ultimately, she and her liberal colleagues lost in the Supreme Court with an 8-0 pounding.  She then tried to circumvent that until the Pentagon told her she would get no more money from them and she caved.

Some people are suggesting that she is or might be a lesbian.  I don't know and I don't care.  That is in no way a disqualifier.  That shouldn't even be an issue.  What should be are the two issues I stated above.

I'm not saying she should be fillibustered at this point.  What I am saying is that we must not rush this along.  There is no urgent need to seat her.  Let the process work.  Find out what she's about first.  And then vote against her.  :)  After all, Obama voted against Chief Justice Roberts on purely ideological grounds. 

I want to take Judge Roberts at his word that he doesn't like bullies and he sees the law and the court as a means of evening the playing field between the strong and the weak. But given the gravity of the position to which he will undoubtedly ascend and the gravity of the decisions in which he will undoubtedly participate during his tenure on the court, I ultimately have to give more weight to his deeds and the overarching political philosophy that he appears to have shared with those in power than to the assuring words that he provided me in our meeting.

The bottom line is this: I will be voting against John Roberts' nomination.

Obama Has Resurrected America

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America's future. He is the best thing ever.
Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.

That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.

Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips — they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.

Now, It's Visceral

The passage of this healthcare bill is the last straw.  It's personal.  The Democrats can no longer call themselves "Democratic".  They don't care what we, the people, think.  If you came away thinking the Democrats care one whit about you, you are either stupid, or...well, your stupid.  You are an idiot.  If you think this bill will in any way make healthcare cheaper, reduce the deficit, and/or create jobs, you are permanently stuck on stupid.  You are incapable of rational thought.

The Democrats like to charge that Bush "shredded" the Constitution. He did nothing of the sort.  Yesterday, however, the Democrats did not just shred the Constitution, they recycled it and made it into toilet paper and are now wiping their collective Socialist asses with it.  Again, if you think this is anywhere close to what the founders of this nation envisioned, you are as stupid as a post.

The beginning of the end to freedom started with FDR and his so-called "New Deal" which actually lengthened the Great Depression.  Social Security, which was enacted during his time is now bankrupt.  The Democrats started robbing it in the sixties to pay for LBJ's "great society".  Instead of money in an account with your name on it, there is nothing but a stack of moldy IOUs.  It's all been spent.  Medicare is also about to go broke.  They pretty much robbed it to help pay for this fiasco they just passed.  Now they ask - nay, demand - that we trust them with this.  Once more, if you think you can trust this group of thugs, liars and crooks, you are stupid, perhaps even a moron.  Your IQ is equal to that of a week-old, used condom. You should most likely not be allowed out without supervision.  I'm not kidding.

Now that the Democrats have showed us that they care nothing for your opinion and think you are too stupid to think for yourselves (and you might be if you agree with this healthcare bill), it's time to go to work.

I know, we are all fired up, but sometimes, the flames have a tendency to die out after a few weeks.  We cannot let this happen.  If you are angry, you need to stay angry.  If you are fired up, throw gasoline on that fire.  Every time you feel like slowing down, look at a picture of Pelosi, Reid and Obama and remember what they did to liberty last night.

Decide to fight.  Work to throw these bums out of office.  Give money and time.  Make it personal, make it your fight.  Do not let up.

I will surely be doing my share.

Fight them by any legal means you can.

The Chicago Way?

One of the congresscritters Obama is trying to "persuade" to vote yes on his health scam bill has a brother.  Obama just announced that the brother was just nominated for a federal judgeship on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. From The Weekly Standard:

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

John Hinderaker, of Powerline Fame and a practicing attorney says he doesn't think it's related.  

As to the Matheson nomination, I think the criticism is not well-founded. That doesn't mean that Obama didn't have one eye on Congressman Jim Matheson when he selected Professor Scott Matheson for the 10th Circuit. No one will ever know, probably. But Professor Matheson would be an ideal choice for Obama even if he didn't have a brother in Congress.

John goes on to say that Matheson is a qualified, albeit liberal, candidate in his own right and that very well may be the case. However, given the sordid reputation of Chicago/Illinois politics, it seems suspicious.

I may not be an attorney, but I have a sense of smell and this just doesn't smell like fresh fish.

POTUS Does The SOTU

Well it's been a few days since the POTUS gave the SOTU and lied about the SCOTUS decision (Dontcha just love acronyms?).  While I almost preferred my tooth pain over listening to "Teh One", I've read enough of the fallout to get a decent understanding of the speech. 

In the interest of full disclosure, I don't usually listen to any SOTU speeches.  Not much new comes out of them so it's easier to read the box scores the next day than sit and listen to the play by play.  Most of them are boring and mundane and they are usually not the speeches that are long remembered. 

The defining moment in this speech for most people was Justice Alito mouthing the words "Not True" to Obama's characterization of the recent Supreme Court Ruling on McCain-Feingold.  It doesn't matter what he said in that speech, most Americans simply don't believe him - and why should they?  Obama hasn't delivered.  It was reported a couple of weeks ago that he created or saved up to 2 million jobs.  America is wondering in what country because they sure weren't here!  Maybe it was in all of those new, made-up Congressional districts  listed in recovery.gov.

With Obama, the funniest part of the speech is the slavering and slobbering of the liberal pundits after the speech.  My nomination for the most wettest and messiest slobbering is to the always entertaining Chris Matthews - he of no balls and Hard Ball fame.  Who can top the "I forgot he was black" comment?  Remember the old line people used to use to show they weren't racist that went, "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black"?  Matthews upped the ante with his idotic comment.  Now, to prove you are post-racial (whatever that means), you must forget people have some sort of color for at least 70 minutes. If Matthews could be any more obsessed over Obama, he would be dry humping Obama's leg like an over-sexed dog.

On to other things tomorrow.  I'm sure that most people are SOTU'd out.

Obama Bows To The Japanese Emperor

Douglas MacArthur rolled in his grave and the drafters of our Constitution shrieked a ghostly howl heard round the world.  Barack Hussein Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America, bowed to the Japanese Emperor Akihito. 

He was caught bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia and his people said it wasn't a bow, it was just that the king was a little shorter than Obama and he bent down to look him in the eye.  Nevertheless, it was a bow and we all know it despite the lie spin from his handlers.

One would think the Obama handlers would have learned from the uproar caused by his bow to the Saudi ruler.  One would have thought that he would be told to just shake hands and call it good.  Either he was told and was too stupid to remember, or he was not told and he was still too stupid to remember.  The other explanation is that he just doesn't care.  Whatever the case, it was wholly inappropriate for him to bow to Akihito.

General protocol says that when the heads of state from different countries meet, bowing and scraping is not required unless the head of state is subject to the other.  An example might be the Canadian Prime Minister bowing to the Queen of England

The President of the United States should never, ever feel obligated to bow down to anyone.  It is a sign of subservience.  The Japanese might think it appropriate, but Obama is not Japanese.  The President of the United States is not subservient to any other ruler.

Just another signpost on the road of the Obama Presidency that we are dealing with a rank amateur who is unworthy of his office and the respect it should entail.

R&R For Obama: Bush Visits Wounded

President Bush visits wounded troops at Fort Hood; tells Post Commander he wants no media coverage.

Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent “considerable time” consoling those who were wounded in Thursday’s shooting spree, Fox News has learned.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

The couple was described as “deeply concerned” about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38.

The Bushes, who have a 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch less than 30 miles from Fort Hood in central Texas, spent between one and two hours visiting the wounded and their families.

Where do you think the Commander-In-Chief of these men and woman who were gunned down is?  Why, he’s off to Camp David for some rest and relaxation after some heavy arm twisting of Congress.

Also, you can bet your life the media coverage will be huge when Obama’s at Fort Hood for the memorial service on Tuesday.   I only hope his dog and pony show doesn’t distract from the dignity of the service.
