Senator Rowland Burris, the Illinois senator who took the disgraced appointment to the US Senate from Governor Blagojevich says George Bush is the reason Chicago didn't get the Olympics.
for Chicago not getting the Olympics in 2016. Burris stated in an
interview, shortly after the announcement, that the image of the U. S.
has been so tarnished in the last 8 years that, even Barack Obama
making an unprecedented pitch for the games could not overcome the hatred the world has for us as a result of George Bush.
This from the man the Democrats didn't even want in the US Senate. If Bush tarnished our image so bad, why has Germany, France, Lithuania, and Italy elected a more conservative government? Why have Europeans elected a more conservative parliament. The only place our inage has been "tarnished" is in those nations that hate us; the ones that sponsor terrorism. You know, the ones who spotlighted the recent UN Conference: Libya, Venesualia, Iran, Syria, etc.
Since Burris has few friends in Washington, maybe he hopes that by blaming Bush, Democrats will accept him. Hey, it worked for Jimmy Carter.
