Why do people believe that if the government takes over the health care industry of this nation, there will be unlimited free care for all? And even if they don't buy into that fairy tale completely, they usually believe the other fairy tale that the government can do a better job than anyone else.
The bills currently in Congress not even addressing any immediate concerns. Most of the provisions in these bills don't even kick in until 2013. On the other hand, they tell us there is no time for us to see what is in these bills because they have to pass them immediately to save everyone. So much for transparency. Need I remind you of another Obama lie?
I talked about the ice cream theory of politics the other day and health care is the ice cream du jour. There is a bill in congress that supposedly will fix all of this short of the government taking over the system. It will cost almost a trillion dollars over ten years as it stands, but what stands is barely a framework of a bill. It just passed committee, but it is not the only bill in the Senate. There is also the Kennedy bill still languishing around and I've read that these two bills will likely merge. What that means is, that the cost will only go up.
Keep in mind that there is really no money for this bill. Not one dime and about the only way we will get it is to raise taxes astronomically, or just print more money. We can't hardly sell our debt bonds to anyone at the moment, so that option is out.
The Republicans have repeatedly offered alternatives that will actually cut the cost of health care and allow more people access. They sent the president a letter with their suggestions and Obama told them to go pound sand.
Obama has no health care bill before Congress. None of the bills were written by his administration. He has done nothing but pay lip service to it and hope some kind of bill comes crawling out of the Congressional swamp that he can sign.
Whatever emerges, it will be expensive, it will be fraught with regulation, restrictions, and rationing - and it will make things worse, not better and that's no fairy tale.

Obama and his left wing base could care less what it will cost the country. They're like little children who believe their parents are a never ending supply of money but in this case the money comes from the taxpayers.
Every day industries are packing up and moving overseas. One of our main engine suppliers recently moved all operations to Mexico. The other day I grabbed a new starter off the shelf and it said "Made in China". The cost of doing business here in the US is driving industry away. Without industry we're doing to die economically. With industry gone and unemployment running rampant, who is going to pay for this government health care?

Health care is expensive in the US, not because it's market driven, its because we live crappy lives. We eat too much, smoke too much, drink too much and don't excercise enough.
When the governement takes over, they will learn this. Costs will go up, or liberties will go down. Expect to see a lot more sin-taxes (I bleepin hate that name) You'll be healthy whether you like it or not and you'll pay out the you-know-what if you stray from the norm.
