Those behind the “green energy” movement know that and now you know it. They aren’t talking about building hydropower, nuclear power or even clean coal. They don’t want you to have oil or even hydrogen. It’s not about global warming or climate change or even polar bears. It’s about control and it’s about controlling you.
From the Seattle Times:
… [An] energy watchdog is alarmed about the threat to the environment from the soaring electricity needs of gadgets like MP3 players, mobile phones and flat screen TVs.Now add to that the idea of plugging in your car or other vehicles and you see the problem. The IEA was formed back in the 70’s when we were told we would be running out of oil by 1980. It now justifies its existence with “climate change” issues.
In a report Wednesday, the Paris-based International Energy Agency estimates new electronic gadgets will triple their energy consumption by 2030 to 1,700 terawatt hours, the equivalent of today's home electricity consumption of the United States and Japan combined.
The world would have to build around 200 new nuclear power plants just to power all the TVs, iPods, PCs and other home electronics expected to be plugged in by 2030, when the global electric bill to power them will rise to $200 billion a year, the IEA said.
You are using way too much electricity. If Henry Waxman gets his way, he will double what you pay for energy from Gasoline to Electricity with his cap and tax trade scheme. It will cost you over 3000 dollars more just in utility bills alone. Gas will most likely go to five or six dollars a gallon.
They don’t want to build new energy facilities. They really don’t even want to build the wind turbines. They want to control you by controlling what you use and do.

I fail to see where going "green" saves a damn thing. Since many local govts have a monopoly on the power and water distribution in the area it is not in their economic interest to have consumption go down. If they were really interested in pushing solar or other alternate energy they would basically give everyone solar panels for each individual home. Cover the south roof of most homes with solar panels and each home would be basically INDEPENDANT of the grid.

A bit off topic, OK WAAAAAAAY off topic.
I know since you are originally from the Detroit area that all the dealer closings being forced upon loyal Chrysler and GM dealers are on your mind. I agree that from a right now ecenomic view it makes some sense for the corps to kill them off. But since the dealers are independEnt businesses who could have chosen ANY car brand to represent they chose those brands. I saw where several GM dealers who were cut off sold less than 100 cars a year. WTF does GM really care if someone doesnt sell many cars?!?!?!? I dont know how a dealer can survive not selling more than 100 cars but more power to them. The thing it really kills in these mainly rural areas is there is absolutely no GM or Chrysler representation now, no local service, and now no local loyalty to that brand. That would seem to me to HURT business not help it.
