If I just read the news, I'd seal up my house and greet visitors with a shotgun. On the other hand, I can count and read a map.
I think some folks are being a bit hysterical and the news media are in a feeding frenzy, ready to exploit every tiny little news bite. Experts abound and an array politicians who probably don't know the difference between an epidemic and an epidermis are out there either blaming other politicians, demanding action and/or trying to find their own stockpile of Tamiflu.
Hillary told the EU Parliament that a good crisis should never be wasted and I guarantee you this Swine Flue panic will be exploited for everything it's worth to get universal health care rammed down our collective throats. As a matter of fact, I'll bet a ten spot that someone will blame "Climate Change" or "Global Warming" for this in the next few days.
Do I think there is a huge emergency? No, I don't. Less than 50 cases so far in a country of over 300 million does not give me cause to hunker in my bunker.
Do I think there is reason for some concern? Sure and we should always be vigilant and ready to take action to contain an outbreak.
I'm no expert so you do what you need to do, but I'm inclined to just keep one of my bleary little eyes on it and use a little common sense. All of you chicken littles should probably duck under the nearest desk and cover your head.

I remember doing the hide under the desk thing in the early sixties!!
I grew up in North Central Montana. Can you say.......ICBM's? It was and still is missile country.
Duck and Cover!;-)

They used to name these flu strains by where they originated like the Hong Kong flu or the Indonesian flu. We need to call this flu what it really is Mexican Pig Flu.

Welcome to the world of PSH. Yes, that would be Pants-Shitting Hysteria. And, actually, I think closing down the border would be a nice result of the whole thing.

VW, surely you must remember the Swine Flu panic in 1976 when all military were ordered to get a Swine Flu shot. Only one person in America died from the flu but the side effects of the shot killed 30 and 500 were affected with paralysis.

wow; WMD_Maker, that was relevant, because?
Anyway,
65 'swine flu' deaths, and masks are sold out.
20 million plus aids deaths and people opt to not wear condoms.
