Cal Coburn Brown is a monster. He rapes, tortures and kills for pleasure. He's scheduled to die this Friday down in Walla Walla.
He used an extension cord plugged into a wall socket to shock and torture her.
Brown told detectives later, however, that he raped Washa with a bottle of after-shave lotion and used an extension cord with the wires exposed to shock her.
``I tested it on myself. I know it causes pain. . . . I had to know exactly how good this stuff was," he said.
You don't get much more depraved than that. If you have any doubts as to whether there is evil in this world, this guy should put them to rest.
The problem is that there are a number of folks around here that think this guy should be spared. Of course they spout the usual arguments about a citizen being killed by the citizenry and how killing him won't bring back his victim. They also say he is bi-polar and was off his meds.
That's reason to spare him? Sorry, but this piece of dried cat vomit has wasted oxygen for way too long and the executioner's needle is far too gentle a death for him.
With any luck, he'll be meeting his maker by the end of the week. He'll receive the justice so long denied him by sympathetic lawyers and judges.

So our State Supremes said, no stay, but some Olyland judge will likely give another delay, according to Brown's defense atty. If that happens I hope the voters in Thurston county give the judge a sentence at the next election.
Murderers like Brown need the ultimate punishment they can receive here on this earth and survivors and society needs the peace that can come from justice rendered. Sooner the better.
