The Democrats who have ruled this state for decades and are responsible for this mess don't want to cut the budget, they want to raise our taxes.
Lawmakers were struggling with balancing the budget when the deficit was at the $4 billion level.
To avoid dramatic cuts, talk of a tax increase is gaining steam.
Senate majority leader Lisa Brown, D-Spokane, says sending a tax increase to the voters is being discussed at the Capitol.
I'm reminded of an old reverse motivational cartoon that says "The beatings will continue until morale improves". People are already hurting. People are already finding it hard to make ends meet. If people have to pay more in taxes, how much less will they have for their mortgages, car payments or to buy food? How is the economy supposed to get better if we have to pay more and more of what we make to the state?
I can't go to my employer when the state taps me for more money
Democrats seem to think that we taxpayers are a some kind of eternal font of money. They spend it recklessly and then hit us up for more when revenues start to drop.
It's looking like it's almost time to hold a tea party a la Rick Santelli.
I'm so ready!
