Just when you thought they were starting to maybe get the message, with Obama declaring he will "halve the deficit", the Democrats unveil another budget busting deficit bomb. It's almost like they are planting these deficit IEDs like they are on some economic jihad against the American taxpayer.
The Democrats (and apparently many Republicans) are proposing a $410 billion budget to keep the federal government running through to the end of the fiscal year which would be October first.
The measure includes thousands of earmarks, the pet projects favored by lawmakers but often criticized by the public in opinion polls. There was no official total of the bill's earmarks, which accounted for at least $3.8 billion.
The legislation, which includes an increase of roughly 8 percent over spending in the last fiscal year, is expected to clear the House later in the week.
While the amount of earmarks are relatively small compared to the whole, it still expands spending by 8 percent in other areas.
Still fighting Bush.
When does it end? When will the American people understand that there is no free lunch and that the government does not and cannot create wealth. When the bill comes due - and it will - people might begin to realize just how much our combined state and national legislatures have robbed and raped us.

When a bill gets the the president, he has two choices, either sign or veto it. Without the line item veto, there's no way he can get rid of the earmarks.
It's amazing how Obama was able to fool people into thinking he can just wave his magic pen and the earmarks would disappear.
