The confetti was dropped, the balloons fell, the fireworks exploded and the last speeches were given. In Denver, the trappings have all been taken apart and the hall and stadium were put back to normal. In St. Paul, the work is probably in progress to restore the Excel center back to normal. The delegates have all gone home and the protesters have packed away their signs.
The Campaign has begun in earnest. By the end of October, the political din will be deafening. I expect violence, especially from the whacko left.
It's going to be a roller coaster ride election season like no other. Football fanatics hunker down every August and don't emerge until after the Superbowl game. We political junkies are similar except that our big game only comes once every four years. On election night, my wife just smiles and understands while I'm glued to the computer all night. To me, this is the biggest game.
It wasn't too long ago that I was getting ready for an Obama win. The game has changed and McCain has a really good chance to pull off a win. Palin was a game changer.
Fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a helluva ride!

I like your optimism.
I'm guardedly optimistic myself, not so much because I think McCain is great (I dont like his border stance and his views on a few other issues) BUT because despite any disagreements I may have with McCain, he's infinitely preferable to the Soros'supported Obama, but I worry about some "dirty tricks" coming up in October.
