Two years ago, Dominick Sergio Maldonado decided to take a rifle and shoot up the Tacoma Mall.
Today, he was finally found guilty of 15 crimes.
From the Tacoma News Tribune:
A Pierce County jury found the Tacoma Mall gunman guilty of 15 crimes Tuesday.
The jury, which deliberated over four days, announced its verdict at 1:30 p.m.
The six men and six women found Dominick S. Maldonado guilty of attempted second-degree murder, four counts of first-degree kidnapping, six counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
The jurors also returned special verdicts on 13 counts because they determined he was armed with a gun when he committed those charges. Those findings will mean added time – five years for each count – when Maldonado is sentenced.
Maldonado showed no reaction when the verdicts were read.
Maldonado, now 22, had been charged with attempted first-degree murder, eight counts of first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree kidnapping and two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm for his actions at the mall on Nov. 20, 2005.
Seven people were hurt – one of them paralyzed – when Maldonado opened fire with two guns.
It's been a long two years for those affected by this thug.
Let him be an old man when he is finally released from prison.

I saw a relative of his on the news crying and saying that he didn't deserve life in prison - when the reporter said to her he tried to kill people she said, I know, but he didn't mean to hurt anyone. Whatever. I hope he goes away for life.
