The Taliban said they were targeting Cheney in that bomb blast at Bagram AB in Afghanistan. No, they were targeting publicity. There is some question as to whether they knew he was there since he wasn't originally supposed to stay that long, but for this, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
First of all, even they know that there was no way they were going to get that close to the Veep. They knew that they wouldn't be able to even get through the first gate, let alone into the central part of the base with a suicide vest.
Michelle Malkin has a cached copy of the comment section from the Huffington Post that had to be shut down because of the Left-wing vitriol and sadness that the Taliban missed their target. How sick is that. Go here and read through some of it, if you can stomach it!
None of those people deserve the protections and freedoms we enjoy in America. People who would advocate the death of a Vice-President are un-American scumbags. Don't anyone comment here that way.
I don't like Pelosi, Kennedy or their ilk, but I will tell you, I wish them no harm. I might wish they would resign or fail to get re-elected, but that is the extent of my wrath. I might call them a few names now and then, but wishing them harm is wrong. If any Conservative did so, I wouldn't have anything to do with them.

The Taliban were wasting their time trying to take out Cheney. He's going to go tits up with a heart attack anyway so they should just let nature take its course.
