By way of Wizbang comes this video of Australian Singer Beccy Cole. Apparently, some of her fans weren't real happy with her when she went to Afghanistan to entertain the Australian troops there. Unlike the Dixie Chicks that met their fans disagreement with derision, Ms. Cole answers in a manner completely opposite of the chicks. I think you'll enjoy it. This, then, is Ms. Cole's answer:
By way of explanation, a "digger" is an Aussie soldier.
What a great song.
VW

Australians should be very proud.
Then again if they don't want her over there I'm sure we can make room over here. She can stay at my place...

That was lovely. She does the Aussie's proud and I give her credit for standing by the soldiers.

Good for her and all the other entertainers who head to Iraq and Afghanistan to keep up the morale.
The Dixie Chicks, as you know, volunteered to entertain the troops in Iraq and Afganistan back in 2005 and Al Franken holds the record of the most USO tours of any entertainer to either country. He's been called "The Bob Hope of Operation Enduring Freedom."
Just a sign that liberals do support the troops -- even if they don't agree with the politicians at home.

Sure... I support the troops - even though what they´re doing is morally wrong and illegal and they are in Iraq killing innocent people in the dark of night and the President is a lying murderer.
Doesn´t work that way. Supporting the Troops is supporting your President and your Government. Not trash talking and tearing your Country apart every chance you get - especially when your claim to fame is a country singer or an actor that has jumped on the bandwagon.
As a volunteer for the USO I can say that I wouldn´t give Franken the time of day if he were to come across our offices. Talk about speaking from both sides of your mouth.

Kelly,
Supporting the troops does not mean blind faith to a politician.
He may be Commander in Chief -- but he's also our hired hand. He's part of the kitchen help when it all boils down. And he works for us, not the other way around. That means we all have not only the right -- but the duty as Ameircans to challenge him and criticize him when we think he's wrong.
You may not appreciate Fanken in your USO offices. Plenty of troops have appreciated him on the front lines of Afghanistan.
I think that says a lot more for him, than you.

How can one support the troops and not support the job and the sacrifice they are doing? Makes no sense. I´ve talked with them about this very subject so don´t fool yourself.
I´ve seen the troops watch Beverly Hills Ninja over and over again - since they do have downtime and their options are limited I´d say they are thrilled to see anything/anyone show up.

I do support the job they're doing. They're following orders and living up to their obligations.
I simply don't support the politicians who've put them there and won't come up with a plan for victory that isn't written by a pollster -- you do realize the "National Plan for Victory in Iraq" was written by one of Bush's pollsters -- not a general or diplomat?
I support the Afghan War wholeheartedly. I oppose the war in Iraq but support the troops in Iraq because they're being used by a political faction to prove a point and they're doing their duty.
Hey, don't listen to me. President Bush, Secretary Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Peter Pace are all on the record as saying "You can support the troops even if you don't support the war."
If you've got a problem with my argument take it up with Mr. Rumsfeld and Gen. Pace.
Oh, wait, that'd mean you don't support the troops.

Wow... and here I thought you liberals thought everything that Bush and Co. said were all just lies.
Since I deal with the men and women in the Military every week I´ll take what they say as gospel rather then take any advice from you.
Sorry VW... I´m done. Oh and sorry your Tigers just lost.
