Yesterday, all the hype about 7 NFL games targeted with dirty bombs sent a chill up most of our spines. As usual, I didn't say anything because I tend to use the 24 hour rule in cases like these. Let the story ride for 24 hours and the truth will usually come out. This "bomb scare" is a good example.
Yeah it was scary. One of the targets was Qwest Field, just up the road about 30 miles from here in Seattle. However, if I had tickets for this Sunday's game, it wouldn't have deterred me.
Now, it comes out that it was a hoax. Two idiots trying to outdo each other, one from Wisconsin and the other from Texas.
"Federal agents tell ABC News a man in Milwaukee has admitted sending phony NFL terror threats as part of a "writer's duel."
The agents say the Milwaukee man and a second suspect in Texas attempted to "outdo" the other in producing the scariest terror threat."
Idiots!
These two need to be charged with something. This is akin to joking about a bomb in an airport.
