There are millions of people writing billions of words, trying to make some semblance of sense out of what happened five years ago. I’ve thought about it, written two essays and scrapped them both. There are a lot of people posting with pictures, some with just words. Some are sad, some are angry and a few are whacked – claiming it was some kind of inside job. Nothing I say seems to be profound enough. Instead of some long winded diatribe or meandering essay, let me just say this about September 11, 2001:
NEVER FORGET
NEVER SURRENDER
GOD BLESS AMERICA

VW, as tough as you are on the outside, you are one big soft Teddy Bear who wears his heart on his sleeve. Your deep feelings over the 9/11 tragedy are refreshing. Some blogs I visited today haven't even mentioned Sept. 11.

Thank you both. I'm pretty much a lot like the old man. We are tough old geezers, but we've been known to well up and drop a tear now and then.
