Police To Brief Muslims Before Terror Raids

Every now and then, you come across a story so absurd as to be beyond belief.  Your jaw drops and you blink your eyes. Your head shakes in the classic double-take form.  You look again, and maybe even two or three more looks, and despite all the blinking and shaking, the letters did not somehow rearrange themselves on the screen.  What you read the first time through is what you read the second and third time, even after all the cranial gymnastics.  Your disbelief turns into profound amazement.  Your head slowly shakes left and right several times as you contemplate the enormous implications and colossal idiocy of such a policy.

[London]Police have agreed to consult a panel of Muslim leaders before mounting counter-terrorist raids or arrests. Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid.

Go ahead, do the double take, rub your eyes, I’ll wait for a second.

Members will be security vetted and will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown. They will not have to sign the Official Secrets Act.

Oh, that makes it all better then!

Security vetted and they promise to keep secrets, that would make me feel safer!  For members of a religion whose first allegiance is to Allah rather than any country and any promises they make mean nothing if it conflicts with their beliefs, this is ludicrous.

Here in Tacoma, there is currently a gang war over on the east side.  We’ve had a plethora of gang violence over there lately.  While some of the gangs are made up along ethnic lines, some are not.  I can’t imagine the police setting up a panel of representatives of the gangs and asking them if they have enough evidence to pursue a raid on a gang.  Whatever politician that endorsed that would be taken out and lynched!

To give any group quasi grand jury status to rule on evidence or intelligence pertaining to that group is just asking for trouble. It’s ludicrous on its face and even more inane as you look deeper.

I’m thinking England, and in particular, Londoners, will regret this lunacy.  If the ball get’s dropped because of this panel, either by design or mistake, the fallout will be immense.  If an investigation fails to thwart an attack because the process is slowed in order to meet with the committee or if a member of the committee passes on intelligence, people will die and it will be because of these loons and their idiotic pandering to political correctness.

The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police (London) is the biggest apologist of all time- a real politician. So now he wants to run intel across the local mullah?! Given that about 4 out of 5 muslims here have at the very least some sympathy with suicide bombers- you'd think that the powers that be here would get that this is crazy.
