It seems Kennedy/Democrat privilege is buying Patrick Kennedy out of a DUI just like his old man. The only difference so far, is that young Pat hasn’t killed someone like his Daddy did, but give him time.
However, You don’t have to be a Kennedy to get preferential treatment in Drunk Driving Cases. All you have to be is a prominent Democrat in WA. In February of 2003, State Supreme Court Justice Bobbe Bridge had a DUI, hit a parked car and tried to run, but got penned in by some civilians that say the accident and called the police. Deferred prosecution is all she got. Justice Bridge still sits on the State Supreme Court.
Last December, the local Union President for the Machinists Union, Mark Blondin, had a DUI. He blew in at twice the legal limit, ramming another vehicle on the road repeatedly. Blondin is president of Lodge 751 of the IAM which represents most of Boeing’s unionized workforce here in the Puget Sound.
Even though the crash happened on December 19, Blondin was arraigned just three weeks ago. His next court appearance is set for Monday morning.
Can you imagine not being arrested for several months if that were you? You’d already be thrown under the jail, but you aren’t a Union President who spreads around a lot of campaign cash to liberal Democrats either.
You also aren’t a privileged Kennedy or a State Supreme Court Justice with heavy ties to the Democrat Party.
John Edwards had it right. There are two Americas. There is the America for the limousine liberals, and there is the America for the rest of us.

I got a DUI years and years ago as a stupid 17 year old. They threw the book at me(classes, jail, huge fines.) I was pissed at the time, but I learned my lesson. I've never so much as contemplated getting behind the wheel of a car intoxicated.
What lesson has this dufus learned?

A Kennedy is getting off scot free? *GASP* HOw shocking. They get away with murder, DUIs are a walk in the park.

That being a Kennedy gives him a lot of built in excuses for DUI and it gets him out of serious trouble.

Sometimes I seriously consider wishing the death penalty for corrupt Federal politicians. If commiting crimes while in public office were deadly you'd have a lot less corruption. Its a position born out of anger and not too plausible but sometimes these people should just do the country a favor and die.
