It's hard for me to keep up with posting on daily events. I have a 2 year old, and another baby coming at the end of September. What I CAN do--one of the things I LOVE to do--is read. I read during my rapidly declining free time in the afternoons; I read before bed. I take a book with me when I go to the doctor, the park, just about anywhere.
But enough about me and my hobbies.
I just finished an excellent book that I thought I'd recommend to all the readers here at the VW. The book was actually recommended to me by one of my brothers-in-law. The title alone caught my interest: Do As I Say (Not As I Do) Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy by Peter Schweizer. In his book, he goes in depth about the blatant duplicity of some of the liberal left's paragons of social justice.
I enjoyed this book, and I must say I am now sufficiently disgusted. I wasn't surprised or shocked about anything I learned about these wackos (like Michael Moore), but what disgusted me is how most folks on the left put these pretentious snobs (like the Clintons) on a gleaming, white pedestal. Also included in Schweizer's book are Ralph Nader, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Al Franken, Barbra Streisand, Noam Chomsky, George Soros, Gloria Steinem, and Cornel West. These are just a few of the Americans who ought to lose their citizenship and be forced to live in outer Mongolia. (Sorry, Mongolia. I know that's not really fair to you, but you do have a lot of barely habitable land that would be perfect for these frauds.)
If you get a chance to pick up this book, whether it's at your local library, bookstore, or you buy it online, it is worth the read. And like Mr. Schweizer, I'd also like to thank the slimy liberals he wrote about "for living such inconsistent lives". Without them, I'm afraid we would actually make progress in this country. Scary.
