Because I’ve been a bit under the weather these past couple of days, blogging’s been a bit light.
Please check out the blogroll for the Coalition Against Illegal Immigrations. Check out some member blogs. They are blogging heavily about the problems of illegal immigration and associated topics. They are posting fast and furious and I don’t even pretend to keep up. Lots of good stuff.
I don’t feel like being too serious tonight, but a few people are. Check out the Mad Pigeon. He wants to know where you get your news and why.
Over at Code Red* Women For The Troops, Thirdee has a story about Sienna Miller getting death threats for her role in "Interview," a remake of director Theo van Gogh's 2003 thriller. Mr. Van Gogh, as you might recall, was killed by Muslim extremists for that movie. By way of full disclosure and adding a shameless plug, I guest blog occasionally over there and I recently contributed this post: He's Nuts Alright. It’s a bout a fellow with full blown Bush Derangement Syndrome. Don’t stop with those two posts. Check out the whole blog. Thirdee and her troop always have interesting stuff.
Now some lighter fare.
Back on April 9th, I told you about an NYT piece about the talented Renaissance women, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, our Secretary of State. Apparently in its attempt at journalist fairness, they did a nice piece on our former Secretary of State, Madeline Albright. Ms. Albright may not be an accomplished classical pianist, but she might be able to take out Dr. Rice in three or for rounds.
NEW YORK – In an interview in the The New York Times Magazine that will appear this coming Sunday, Madeleine Albright reveals, among other things, that even at 68, she works out three times a week "and I can leg-press up to 400 pounds." This follows a discussion of how she does not expect to re-marry, partly because, as she says, "I'm intimidating, don't you think?"
The award is pending for "The Biggest Understatement of the Year" Award.
Next has me drooling: According to Reuters:
UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday he was seriously thinking about another White House bid in 2008 and will decide before the year is out.
"I will make that decision toward the end of the year, but I'm thinking about it hard," Kerry said in response to a question at the Latin Economic Forum at the United Nations.
Oh please…Run John, Run!
Hat Tip for the Kerry story: Wizbang
I hope to be back up to speed tomorrow. Enjoy!
