Here is a heartwrencher, unfortunately it is a consequence of breaking the law of our land. Unfortunate for us that "illegal" no longer means "illegal." Maybe he can come back, especially if some group makes a loud enough noise upon reading the article.
From USAToday:
**This was a production of The Coalition Against Illegal Immigration (CAII). If you would like to participate, please go to the above link to learn more. Afterwards, email the coalition and let me know at what level you would like to participate.**Deportation split Julie Santos' family in 2001, forcing her husband, an illegal immigrant, to return to Mexico while she and their two U.S.-born children remained in her hometown of Chicago.George Santos had worked and paid taxes in the USA for 15 years but is barred from ever returning because he used false identity papers to claim he was a U.S. citizen.

What a tangled web they weave for themselves. It's so true.
Sure, it's sad when illegal immigrants face being deported when they have family here. But, it all starts when they break the law.
There's an illegal we know-a good man. He's not supposed to drive. But, he has to work. So, he drives anyway. His car has been impounded two times now over the past year or two. Local law enforcement threatens to report him-I guess-all I know is they say if they catch him again, he'll be sent back to Mexico. *right* So, he can either bum a ride to work to take care of his family; Or, he can drive, uninsured, and risk deportation; Or, he can just stay home, watch univision and collect government benefits.
The sad thing is he's not the exception.
