From McNinny (Name swiped from Thirdee at Code Red):
Throughout my tenure in Congress, I seem to evoke memory loss, especially from certain police officers who claim not to be able to recognize my face while I go to work everyday, representing the people of Georgia's 4th Congressional District.
Maybe some are new. Just maybe it's a little tough to memorize 535 faces. Just maybe you are so full of crap, your brain is clogged. Just maybe you're spring-loaded to the stupid position.
What a waste of good oxygen!

I cannot join the lynch mob just yet. Right now there are just way too many unknowns and I think a lot of information that is needed to form a solid opinion on the matter will only be fed to jurrors.
The senator shouldn't be hard to recognise lapel pin or not. especially by policemen that guards her building. Do policemen rotate shifts? Was it his first day at that post? Has the policemen ever participated in any racist organizations? Did his supervisor not tell him that there is a freakin senator that goes in and out every day? Did the policeman surprise the senator?
There is a precedent for senators skipping the metal detectors, this is not wrong doing on the senators part nor is it abnormal. So, the senator should not expect a confratation by not going through them. If she was surprised then she made an entirely human reaction. If a cop grabbed me from behind without announcing himself and I swung at him should I goto prison? Did the policeman shout "hey you"? would a senator really be expected to be addressed like that in their own building?
Way too many unknowns. If she knowingly hit a cop then sure throw her away for 3 - 5. But somehow I'm not totally ready to find the cop guiltless either. Theres only two senators per state, I am having a really hard time beleiving that a cop protecting her workplace failed to recognize her. I knew the principal my first day at school and their were well over 535 kids there. The important faces tend to stick out.

I concur, there's just not enough information as to what went on here.
Dont be so quick to say yea, when logic says that this officer should know who's who by now.
With things the way they are with how you guys are always saying show me the proof of what King George has done.
When the proof's all over the tapes with what he has said in the past and the memo's out there.
So show me the proof first and then we can jump on this lady, ok.

When most all the Dems, even the black ones, back away and want nothing to do with Cynthia McKinney and her claims... you know it’s not because they want to step back and see all the facts... They know she’s a loose cannon and want no part of it...

Whether or not the police officer recognized is irrelevant. She's got a reputation for a quick temper. What better way to cover for it than by crying race? I'll take the word of one Capitol Hill police officer over her anyday.

Just to let some of y'all know, she's a Representative, not a Senator.
If she did strike the officer, she should go to jail for it. If I were to do that, I would be in jail as well.
Let's let the legal process play out.
