I am willing to bet that every waking moment, those hostages from the Christian Peace Teams prayed for rescue. They may have prayed for their captors as a good Christian should, but I’ll bet they also spent a lot of time thinking about their dead comrade and the horrible way he died. Their prayers were answered in the form of some British SAS troops who rescued them.
Aside from the deliberate poke in the eye to those who risked their lives to save their worthless hides, is the vilification they heaped upon their saviors as occupiers. And this:
“During these past months, we have tasted of the pain that has been the daily bread of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. Why have our loved ones been taken? Where are they being held? Under what conditions? How are they? Will they be released? When?"
Are they talking about life under Saddam? Are they talking about Post Saddam? Are they talking about their captors? They are talking post Saddam and the “occupiers” of course. It matters not that Saddam’s government routinely tortured and murdered people. It doesn’t matter that their captor butchered their colleague. It only matters to them that all of this is the fault of the “occupiers”
They make no mention of the brutal savages that killed their friend. They make no mention of the brutal way he was murdered and his body dumped at the side of the road. It’s one thing to turn the other cheek toward your enemies, it’s quite another to then insult those who would risk their own life to save yours.
I understand they don’t like this war. Fine, you don’t have to like it. But when that war threatens your very existence, the least you could do is acknowledge those who saved your hide, from the ones in that war that actually wanted to do you harm.
Fortunately for these ungrateful and arrogant bastards, if they get captured again, there will be another group of soldiers willing to risk their lives to save their despicable hides again.
VW

You could almost see this coming.
It's true VW, even though I hadn't thought of it. They were probably praying-and sweating bullets-for their rescue. And who comes to rescue them but the big evil multinational forces.

I'm proud to be a part of the ones in this country that support the troops and the mission. Even the mission to go and rescue the captured Christian Peace Team... I'm glad they made it out alive too and I do truly feel for the American family that lost their loved one out of the group. After their comments though... Well-- their god will know how to handle that end of it...

These people knew the risk when they intentionally put themselves in harms way and then they have to have their asses saved by the very people they were protesting, pretty ironic.

These "Christian" soldiers going over there, I am sure have good intentions, but they only put REAL soldiers in harms way.
If they hadn't been there, there would have been no rescue, and the American would still be alive.
Their groups' reaction to the rescue is appalling.
