Is anyone as bored with the Olympics as I am? I’ll be the first to admit that I’m really not into sports all that much any way. I’m from the Puget Sound Area and when I was in Hawaii on Super Bowl Sunday, I didn’t even watch the Seahacks...oops... the Seahawks lose to the Steelers. I didn’t even know who won until later that evening. I was also in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl game and didn’t watch that one either.
That said, the Olympics seem to become lamer and lamer every year. The only sport worth watching any more seems to be Curling. It’s probably the only event left that doping wouldn’t help anyone and fair play is a requirement.
Every now and then, though, a glimmer of real gold glitters through the pyrite or some sun (as in Apolo) shines through the clouds.
I didn’t see it, but Lady Jane of A Lady’s Ruminations did and she has the pictures and the story.
Congratulations to Apolo Ohno – A real class act!

The olympics would get alot more intresting if they threw pankration back in the mix. The bare knuckle boxing and wrestling martial art of the greeks.
The problem with modern day olympics is too many sports. What the hell is the difference bewteen the 400 and the 200run, swim, hike, skiing, does anybody care? The olympic sports should curtailed, only the best and most difficult sports and applicants need apply. The Olympics have lost their luster becasue they're not larger than life anymore.
Honestly, although, not a traditional sport, snowboarding was one of the events I would watch if it was on. Four people downhill, same course.
I'm not bashing the atheletes one bit, they are people with tremendous capability butthe sports they are involved in are unappealing. Apparntly the country wants to watch whatever else is on.
