R I P Don Knotts

Don Knotts is gone.  Most of us boomers knew him as Barney Fife, the bumbling hick deputy sheriff and sidekick to Andy Griffith.   I suppose that’s how I’ll always remember him.  Like most folks I know, we don’t even think of him by any other name.  In fact, when I’ve seen him on other things, I always think Barney Fife, not Don Knotts. 

Goodbye, Don/Barney.  You were one of the good guys who could make us laugh without resorting to a string of four-letter words.
