Today, Iraq takes another step toward joining the democracy club. Iraq is the Arab world’s first full fledged member. The purple ink-stained finger is a badge of honor and courage. It is a sign of hope where none existed. It is a proud people finally throwing off the vestiges of a tyrannical butcher.
To those of you who think it isn’t worth it, you have no compassion. To those of you who think it’s all about oil, you are woefully ignorant. For those of you who think the premise was a deliberate lie, you are clueless.
If any of you were to ask me if it would be worth the price of losing a loved one, I would, without an iota of hesitation, tell you yes. I have a second son-in-law there now. God forbid he gets hurt or killed, but I would not turn into a Cindy Sheehan. I would not sell the blood of my son-in-law like she has her own son. It’s disgusting. What would make me angry is if we left before the job is done. If we do that, those who were wounded, and those who paid the ultimate price would have done so for no reason.
I don’t support occupation for occupation's sake. As soon as we can turn security over to the Iraqis with a high expectation that they will succeed, then do so and pull back what you can. To just cut and run or say that we can’t win is just plain irresponsible.
I’m not “pro-war”. That’s a ridiculous thought. What I am is pro-victory. This is something we need to differentiate. War is sometimes necessary and when you do go to war, you need to do so with the idea of winning it.
I say again, if we run and give up before the job is done, it will only serve to show those who work toward our destruction that they can win. It will show the world they can’t trust us and it will give people like Kim Il Sung reason to believe that if he invades South Korea in order to enslave it with his evil brand of Stalinistic Socialism, we won’t have the will to stop him
If we cut and run like many Democrats suggest, then we deserve defeat. Indeed, we are begging for it. Again I emphasize, that is not the world I want to live in or see my grandchildren grow up in.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
VW

May all your loved ones be returned to you unscathed, having accomplished what they set out to do. May all those who have sacrificed so greatly receive back 10 times what they gave when all is said and done. Merry Christmas!
