From Fox News:
WASHINGTON — Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's legal team asked a court Friday to throw out his indictment, arguing that a Texas district attorney "attempted to browbeat and coerce" grand jurors into filing criminal charges.
Ronnie Earle is the worst kind of political hack. His indictments are malicious and bogus and I fully expect them all to be dismissed. Furthemore, I hope Earle faces professional discipline for using his office to mount political attacks.
Ken from Oblogatory Anecdotes notes:
What really demonstrates the weakness of Earle’s case is the fact that he had to go back to the grand jury for a “do over”. Then to hear that he may have coerced them into handing down an indictment really smacks of prosecutorial corruption. It has been said than when you go after the king you better kill him. If Ronnie Earle has brought weak charges in an attempt to topple the Republican majority leader, then Tom DeLay will be singing his own version of Goodbye Earle.
