I suppose it might not have made the headlines with all the giddy anticipation of “Fitzmas”. I know, that the with all the Miers withdrawal and subsequent speculation about the next SCOTUS appointee, that you might have missed the story. So in case you did miss it, I’ll oblige and fill you in.
Congresswoman Fined $33,000
Yep. She was busted for raising a bunch of illegal campaign cash. Too bad she wasn’t in Travis County, Texas. I’ll bet ol’ Ronnie Earle would have only needed one or two grand juries to get an indictment on this one.
[The Congresscritter] must pay a $33,000 fine and reimburse as much as $72,000 to political donors after accepting excessive contributions in the 2002 election, the Federal Election Commission said Friday.
Why aren’t the Democrats demanding she step down? Indeed, shouldn’t she be indicted or something?
First of all, it is a Democrat who was practicing a bit of corruption, and second, it just wasn’t any Democrat. It is Cynthia McKinney from Georgia.
Liberals will not say one damn thing about McKinney. See, the excuse is (or will be) that it was racially motivated or that it was the administration trying to embarrass her for being critical of the President. Name your favorite Democrat response to corruption.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for the Democrats to call her on it.

Eh? I'm not sure how this incident constitutes an epidemic, a "Culture of corruption" within the Democrat party. Unfortunately illegal campaign cash is like a speeding ticket for you and me. Sure Speeding is illegal, but everyone does it and most people accept the fact when they get caught and move on and everyone looks the other way and nobody makes a big deal except the guy across the street who doesn't like you anyways.
The only Culture of Corruption is in the Repblocrat party or the Demicans whatever you want to call them, both parties are so obese and full of corruption. We need to let our congresscritters (love that word) know that illegal campaign bonuses are an important issue and that perhaps congress could step up the punishment for these infractions, perhaps even jail time for fraud.

It doesn't, no more than the liberals charge against the Republicans.
