A Call For Unity
NOTE TO LIBERALS: This is family only. Any comments you make will be deleted. The only time I will delete comments is when I give you fair warning such as this or if they are obscene.
The Democrats have no message except hate. They hate President Bush and from that flows their unity. It is not the type of unity that can stand any length of time because once their object of hatred is gone, building hate for the next person/cause may take time and resources. They have no agenda except obstructionism.
They home in on any weakness, real or perceived like a shark to blood. Give them a drop and they whip themselves into a feeding frenzy. Their tactics are guerrilla. They engage us, then fade back into the night. The next day or the next week, they hit us again. All they have to do is start the fire and watch us expend money and influence trying to put it out.
Look at the DeLay case. No one of any legal standing that I've read thinks any of that will stick, but they've engaged us in the fire. It is trumped up charges meant to disrupt. If they can hang an indictment, they know that Republican rules says he has to step down. It is nothing more than an attempt to taint him and others with the smell of corruption and weaken us, even if just a little bit.
Look at how they have us split on the Supreme Court Nomination. They have to be laughing their collective asses off watching us scurry around and nit picking Harriet Miers. They don't have to worry about a filibuster. All they have to do now is justify their no vote and subsequent filibuster by telling people that even the rank and file Republicans don't want her. They have split us because of their threat of veto by filibuster. Some of our weaker Senators get shaky and the Democrats effectively control the process and who gets appointed. We have essentially ceded control of the Senate and the process to the Liberal extremists like Reid, Schumer, Kerry, Kennedy, Feinstein and Durban.
Look at how they effectively controlled the Katrina aftermath. The entire debate was framed around FEMA. Nagin and Blanco were incredibly incompetent and inept. They were more afraid of the political winds than they were of Katrina's, yet Nagin's and Blanco's failures are all but moot points because Democrats and their friends in the Media yelled loud and often about FEMA.
I guarantee you things are only going to get worse. If an indictment is handed down over the Plame game, look for it to take the MSM by storm. Democrats only cry about due process and letting the justice system work when it's one of their one like that slime bag Berger. They will even yell for a special prosecutor. Bank on it.
They don't need any other agenda at the moment than to divide us. When they do that, they will win and I guarantee you, we will stand around and wonder how they managed to do it. I'm telling you now how they will do it. They may have no ideas, but they aren't stupid either.
The Democrats know they can't defeat us with ideas. They have none. They can only defeat us if we defeat ourselves. The American Public is not extreme left wing like Kennedy, etc. They know that if we are fighting amongst ourselves, they can grab territory. SO STOP IT ALREADY!
This is a call for unity. Michell Malkin, Ann Coulter and some others are playing right into the Democrat's hands. It's time we closed ranks in Harriet Miers and other issues. If we don't, the sharks will be having us for lunch.

Wow, well said. I agree.
Unfortunately it is the beltway Republicans who are completely out of touch right now, they have no idea why He picked this lady because she isn't one of their east cost elites, she's one of the people who happens to be a great lawyer.
He picked her because of her temperament and her religious devotion...Beltway Republicans don't care about the heart, only about whether the person will be judicially conservative. Bush cares about the heart and so do most of us in fly-over country.

Her religious devotion? What are we picking here, a SC judge or a bishop?
Bush's pick to run immigration is what Michelle's on about, and she's right. The only people who'd get angry at a strong border are the illegals, yet he offered up a softball.
Bush is governing as if he had to deal with a coalition partner.

If we get the presidency twice and congress for ten years and a majority of governors and legislatures like we have, shouldn't we be getting something for it?
Well, we're not. We're getting liberal government lite.
On the war and some taxes Bush is great, on everything else he sucks my butt.
And I voted for him twice.
You're right, we should show unity.
AGAINST. Make his sorry softball butt work for the people who voted him in for once.

I don't think its right to fake unity just for political gain. The Democrats have too low of approval ratings for it to matter anyway. I do agree that Coulter and Malkin make the GOP look bad. When people think Republican they need to think mainstream, not crazy.

Appeasing our core beliefs is what got us in the mess we have today with the GOP. Lax border security to appease the pro-illegal alien lobby and the cheap business lobby, high spending to appease the welfare-state lobby (Democrats), appease, appease, appease.
I thought I campaigned for a strong willed Texan not Neville Chamberlaine reincarnate.
Sorry man, I can't swallow a plate of bull for the GOP, President Bush, or anyone...
The Republicans must reject Miers because we as Conservatives of all stripes DEMAND a stronger person who has a known conservative background. I don't care if they were a previous judge, Church Preacher, Teacher, or a Boy Scout Troop leader. All I want is someone who is a known conservative.
President Bush also "looked into the heart" of Vladomir "Pootey Poot" Putin, and look how well Russia is doing right now.
There's a time to be compassionate to the American people and there's a time to follow your commitments to the people who voted and supported you.
I had a call from a Republican Nat'l Committee member asking me for money today, I said I would give $25 ONLY if Congress and GWB do something about the border. I've been a card carrying and campaigning Libertarian for a few years (I'm 25) and in 2004 I switched over to the "Dark side" to support GWB specifically for the War on Islamic Terror. I believed in him that he would restrain his drunken-sailor spending and massive giveaways and most of all bring in a true conservative to the bench. He has failed me on immigration, spending and the courts (if he goes with Miers). I like President Bush personally and I think he's a great guy, but this "new tone" stuff is getting very tiresome. Dems want blood, so let's give them Janice Rogers Brown or Justice Owens. Throw their "diversity lobby" back in their faces.
If President Bush goes and appoints a blatantly obvious crony pick, the national RNC will have lost my vote for years to come. We are the winners, not the losers so let's start acting like it. This week would be a great time to start.

Right on the money there! Funny how the left is falling all over themselves to make sure we get a born again evangelical CHRISTIAN on the SCOTUS.
Ann Coulter and Rush might be part of the rope a dope.
But I would caution our conservative friends who are up in arms about the whole thing and the many other issues like immigration.
Imagine what kind of judges Hillary Clinton will appoint. What kind of immigration policy will we get from House Speaker Pelosi?
The problem is, and always has been, that we do NOT have a conservative government. We have a GOP majority in both the House and the Senate, but not a conservative majority.
And we will NEVER get one if conservatives just get mad and stay home.
It's amazing that we win any elections at all with the deck stacked against us most of the time.
But simply surrendering the field because of Miers would be SUICIDE!
Time for us Right Wingers to stop behaving like Right Whiners and get back to being RIGHT WINNERS!
