Hello. My "blog moniker" is Patri-ette; a rather poor attempt at the feminitization of the word "patriot"; however, in no uncertain terms...do NOT confuse me with anything French. I am a first generation American and extremely grateful to be here. I am the newest but not youngest addition to the Violence Worker Blog. (A big 10-Q to VW, who I'll refer to as "VW" for short. If this was Austria he'd be known as "WV").. I will not admit to being the most intelligent, provocative or even interesting writer you'll ever read; but I am blatantly honest. I believe in cutting through the red tape (which in my neck o' the woods we call, "bull s---"). So, not to be confused with any famous writer, actress, politician, etc. read my opinion to the linked story: "NATO OK's Plans to Deliver Hurricane Aid"

OK. So, did you read it? Good. My opinion? I think it's a great idea. But why should we limit our willingness to receive help only from NATO? There is nothing wrong with our receiving aid from our friends and questionable acquaintances. Even Cuba. Kuwait donated $500 billion barrels of oil, the socialista dictator of Venezuela, you know, Pat Robertson's "bud", said he would send $1million barrels of oil. Are we afraid to receive help from these guys because it will make us look weak, traitorous to our own ideals, they may be sending biological WMD in their pharmeceutical bags, how about 1 million illegal Venezuelans each in his own barrel floating ashore in the Gulf of Mexico? Personally, I do not see how the offering and accepting of help for our own victims (yes, I hate that word too, but I don't know how to access the blasted thesaurus from here) of a natural disaster is going to show us to be militarily or politically or ideologically weak. I'm thinking if I need help I don't really care where it's coming from. I mean, really, do you think the possibility holds that the Americans assisted by these folks will decide to move to these other countries? If that's the case, let 'em go.
