Dan Cooper, or more famously known as D.B. Cooper, extorted 200,000 dollars form Northwest Orient Airlines back in November of 1971. He became somewhat of a folk hereo. He stuck it to "the man" and seemingly got away with it - or did he? A lot of folks think he died when he jumped from the Boeing 727 almost 34 years ago.
There seems to be some credible evidence that he may have survived, but there is a retired FBI agent who thinks he might have drowned in the Columbia River.
SEATTLE – More than three decades after the most notorious robbery in the Northwest history, the manhunt is on for D.B. Cooper once again.
This guy is spending a big chunk of change to search for him. In 1980, almost $6000 of the $200,000 was found in the sand by a child near the river. The money matched the serial numbers of the loot he was given in Seattle.
Somehow, I doubt he will find much and there is a part of me that hopes he doesn't.
