Carter: Guantanamo Detentions Disgraceful.
BIRMINGHAM, England -- Former President Carter said Saturday the detention of terror suspects at the Guantanamo Bay Naval base was an embarrassment and had given extremists an excuse to attack the United States.
Carter also criticized the U.S.-led war in Iraq as "unnecessary and unjust."
"I think what's going on in Guantanamo Bay and other places is a disgrace to the U.S.A.," he told a news conference at the Baptist World Alliance's centenary conference in Birmingham, England. "I wouldn't say it's the cause of terrorism, but it has given impetus and excuses to potential terrorists to lash out at our country and justify their despicable acts."
Shut up Jimmeh. You are an idiot. Either that or you are one of the most oblivious people in the world.
Think about what Jimmeh said and where he said it. He said it in England. He is saying that the terrorists are mad at us about Gitmo.
First off Peanut Brain, you are in England and they just experienced a deadly terrorist attack. Second, England does not run Gitmo. Third, they did not use Gitmo as their pathetic excuse.
Jimmeh Carter may have been President, (Disclosure Time: I voted for this guy the first time, he is why I’m a Republican!) but he was an absolute failure. Since Reagan routed him out of office, he has been publicly hating America ever since.
All of the alleged horrors of Gitmo do not add up to one hour’s experience in the jails of most of Islam. The jails of the Middle East and most third world countries are Hell Holes. On the worst day in Gitmo, they were treated better than the best day in most of the jails in the world.
At least Jimmeh admits that Gitmo and Iraq are not the cause of terrorism. He knows. It was under his failed and pathetic administration that Iran took our embassy and held the staff as prisoners. What was their excuse then? It was the Democrats in charge. Aren’t they supposed to be nicer people?
These people don’t need an excuse for terror. Bin Laden is not some poor farmer demanding the end of serfdom. Bin Laden is extremely wealthy and the world’s leading proponent of serfdom! It’s not just Israel or Iraq. They hate us, they hate our way of life and they have sworn themselves to spreading their brand of Islamo-fascism throughout the world!
It’s people like Jimmeh that run around denouncing America that actually encourages the enemy. Peace at any price, Jimmeh? It never works. Dictators and terrorists use diplomacy only to advance their cause. If that doesn’t work, they resort to terror. It’s hard to reason with people bent upon world domination. They aren’t reasonable.
